Regulation & content disclaimer
SOLL is a reference, not legal advice. Everything on SOLL — including the Regulation Map, rule summaries, news items, and AI-generated key points — is provided for general informational purposes only. Nothing here is legal advice, and using SOLL does not create an attorney–client relationship with CLS Outdoor Environments LLC or anyone else.
What "Verified" means. A rule marked "✓ Verified" was checked by a person against the official statute, code, or ordinance on the date shown on that rule's card, with a link to the official source. It is a record of when we last checked — not a guarantee the rule is unchanged today. Laws and local ordinances are amended constantly.
No warranty. We work hard on accuracy but make no warranty that any summary is accurate, complete, or current. Summaries are ours; if a summary and the official text ever differ, the official text controls.
News headlines, thumbnails, and short key points are brief pointers to third-party publishers; they are not endorsements, and the linked publisher's own content governs.
Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and CLS Outdoor Environments LLC (Rancho Cucamonga, California) covering SOLL at clslight.com/soll and its related pages and emails. By using SOLL, subscribing to the digest, or submitting a suggestion, you agree to them.
Using SOLL
- SOLL is free for personal and professional reference. You may cite or share individual items with attribution and a link.
- Don't misuse it: no unlawful use, no bulk scraping or wholesale republication of the database, no abusing the suggestion box, poll, or signup endpoints, and no attempting to probe or disrupt the service.
- SOLL and its original content (summaries, design, compilation) belong to CLS Outdoor Environments LLC. Third-party headlines, images, and articles belong to their publishers.
- Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we're not responsible for their content or practices.
Suggestions you send us
By submitting to the suggestion box (or emailing tips), you grant CLS Outdoor Environments LLC a perpetual, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, adapt, and act on your submission without restriction or compensation, and you confirm it doesn't violate anyone else's rights. Submissions are not confidential.
No professional advice; no warranties; limits on liability
SOLL is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The disclaimer above is part of these terms. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CLS Outdoor Environments LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of SOLL — including decisions, bids, installations, or inspections informed by it — and our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to SOLL is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
The digest
Subscribing stores your email and topic preferences so we can send the weekly digest. Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe that takes effect immediately. See the Privacy Policy.
Housekeeping
These terms are governed by California law, with venue in San Bernardino County, California. We may update these terms; the effective date below changes when we do, and continued use after a change is acceptance. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stands.
Privacy Policy
SOLL is built to know as little about you as possible. No ad trackers, no third-party analytics, no cross-site tracking, no tracking cookies — and we never sell or share personal information with anyone for marketing.
What we collect, and why
- Digest subscription: your email address and topic preferences — used only to send the weekly digest via our email provider.
- Suggestion box: your message and, only if you include it, your email — used to read, act on, and optionally reply to your suggestion.
- Poll votes: your answer keyed to a random session identifier. No name, no account.
- First-party usage analytics: a random session identifier plus aggregate events (pages and sections viewed, device class, screen width, referrer, and campaign/UTM tags on the link you arrived from). We use this to understand what's useful and to measure our own campaigns. It is not tied to your identity and never leaves our systems.
Where it lives
Data is processed by our service providers acting on our instructions: Supabase (database hosting), Resend (email delivery), and Lovable (site hosting). We don't hand personal information to anyone else, and we keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above.
Cookies & local storage
SOLL uses browser storage only for function: your display preferences (like reduced motion), your random session identifier, and offline caching for the installable app. Nothing is used to track you across other sites, which is why there's no cookie banner.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe: one click in any digest email — effective immediately, no login, no questions.
- Access or delete: email eugene@clslites.com and we'll delete your subscription, suggestions, or associated data promptly (target: within 10 business days).
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: we don't sell or share personal information, so there is nothing for these signals to opt out of — the protections they request are SOLL's default for everyone.
SOLL is a professional trade resource, not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date below and note material changes on the site. Questions: eugene@clslites.com.
Copyright & takedown
SOLL links to publishers rather than republishing them: headlines, source-provided thumbnails, and short original key points that point back to the original article. If you're a rights holder and want something removed or corrected, tell us and we'll act quickly — no forms, no fight: eugene@clslites.com.
To help us act fast, include: (1) identification of the copyrighted work; (2) the SOLL URL where it appears; (3) your contact information; (4) a good-faith statement that the use isn't authorized; (5) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you're authorized to act for the rights holder; and (6) your physical or electronic signature. If we remove user-submitted material, the submitter may send a counter-notice with equivalent details. Accounts or sources that repeatedly infringe are removed.
Accessibility statement
We want every lighting professional to be able to use SOLL, and we build toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Each release is checked with automated audits (axe) and manual review across desktop, tablet, and mobile, including keyboard navigation, screen-reader landmarks and labels, visible focus states, reduced-motion support (both the OS setting and the on-page ⏸ toggle), and color-contrast targets.
Known limits: some third-party publisher images and embedded video players don't fully meet our standards. If anything on SOLL is hard for you to use, email eugene@clslites.com — a person reads every report, and we aim to respond within 5 business days. Last reviewed: August 8, 2026.
